Kahuna Beach Resort & Spa | San Juan, La Union | Philippines

the other summer i got to squeeze in a night at Kahuna Beach Resort and Spa in san juan, la union in the philippines. it’s situated by a bunch of other surf resorts in the area. of course it wasn’t the best time to stay at a surf resort since it was rainy season, but I tried to squeeze in some beach time when the rain died down.

i ended up booking a standard garden room that has a queen bed and it was pretty roomy. i was a little surprised at how roomy it was. i really thought the bathroom was dope. in our room the bathroom had large windows that look out into a little enclosed area with a small garden where you can enjoy the sunlight/moonlight as you’re in there. the room was super chill. wifi, tv and dvd player to entertain you when you weren’t out enjoying the beach. only downside of this particular room is that you share a wall with a neighbor. the wall isn’t that thick at all. i kinda felt bad that my sister and i were up late watching the movie spy and laughing way too much. (sidenote: spy is hilarious! jason statham is TOO. GOT. DAMN. FUNNY. like seriously no joke. i couldn’t help but crack up again after looking for a trailer to share.) seemed like the neighbors were hanging in their friend’s room most of the night so it was okay.

in the morning the weather wasn’t so bad. it was overcast. got up and enjoyed breakfast, which was pretty yummy. you choose from the menu of set breakfast meals that are included with your room price. it was delicious. just wish i took a photo of it for mucho sarap. i can’t remember exactly what i had, but it was a silog breakfast.

after,i spent the rest of the morning by the water. unfortunately, i didn’t get to surf or stand up paddle board. i was super bummed. if you ever want to try your hand at surfing, then i recommend trying in san juan. there are a bunch of surf teachers there and it’s pretty affordable. renting a board is mad cheap too. 200 philippine pesos, which is roughly $4. the waves are pretty calm and the water isn’t that deep. plus, the water feels so nice. that china sea water man. you will just want to float on it all day.

deuces. i was all about chanel vibrato that summer.
